The Children’s Learning Center

Welcome to The Children’s Learning Center!

Located at 650 NE A Street in beautiful Madras, Oregon, we offer a wide range of early childhood services for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The Children’s Learning Center has been serving the Madras community since 1966.  Our current location was opened in 2000 with support from community partners. Our facility has three playgrounds and over 5400 square feet of classroom space to meet the needs of the Jefferson County community.  Our vision is to collaborate with families to build a strong academic foundation for children to grow and thrive.

As a committed early childhood provider, we work with families to develop goals and learn social emotional skills to help every child enter kindergarten ready to learn.  We use a standardized play-based curriculum that is individualized to help each child be successful.  And we work with families to develop child goals and identify developmental needs through conferences and regular home visits.

We collaborate with Advantage Dental, WIC, the High Desert ESD, and private mental health and nutrition consultants to ensure every child receives dental, hearing, and vision screenings multiple times throughout the year.  Family Advocates are available to assist families in navigating medical systems and provide community resources and family support as needed. Our program is inclusive to all children and families, including those with developmental delays and medical needs.

With more than 35 staff members, The Children’s Learning Center provides professional development opportunities in all areas of childhood development. Opportunities include on-site, regional, and online trainings, as well as support for continuing education.

The Children’s Learning Center offers private pay childcare for children ages 6 weeks to five years old and private pay preschool for children three to five years old. We partner with the DHS ERDC program to provide subsidized childcare for families who qualify. We also offer state-funded Headstart services for children ages six weeks to five years old.  Meals are provided to all children and transportation is available for children participating in select programs.  We serve up to 140 students each year.
