Rocking Horse Childcare & Preschool

Located at 1st and B Street in beautiful, Madras, Oregon, we offer full-time preschool care to children ages 2 through 5, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

With more than 20 years of experience, we provide a safe and happy environment with loving care that focuses on each child’s individual uniqueness in doing so, building self-esteem and respect for others while stimulating their physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth at their own pace. 

As a Preschool Promise Provider, Rocking Horse Childcare and Preschool is proud to offer a variety of rigorous learning experiences. Our curriculum is aligned with Oregon’s Early Learning and Kindergarten Guidelines and is tailored to each individual child’s needs. We collaborate with parents and partner organizations to support children on individual learning plans.

Our 1,000 square foot facility houses an open space classroom for children to engage in play based learning. We have security locks on all doors and protocols to keep our students and staff safe at all times. And all students practice hand washing and hygiene frequently throughout the day.

Our classroom features multiple gross motor activities. Daily projects can range from arts and crafts to games. Our fun circle time allows students to engage in group learning while gaining valuable social and emotional learning skills. Our child to teacher classroom ratio is 14 to 3 and our emotional support animal, Toby, is loved and adored by all of our students!

Our spacious playground is equipped with interactive play structures that keep children learning while they are outside of the classroom. From rock climbing to music tubes and chimes, our students are able to engage in play based learning with one another in a secure outdoor space.

Rocking Horse Childcare and Preschool staff members actively participate in required health, safety, and educational trainings and are offered regular professional development opportunities to enhance their skills. 

We are proud to share our daily activities with parents and guardians through our Parent Engagement app. Through this app we are able to communicate in a variety of ways from messaging to child development via documentation. Parents and guardians are able to see invoices and pay them all through the app.
